Being a taste-maker

John Edward Ross has spent his entire adult life dedicated to music. Through his experience he’s able to guide your efforts to produce your best possible sound. As a musician himself, he not only knows the mechanics of the equipment, but also all of the indescribable nuances that go into song-writing, recording, and arranging. He has a knack for nailing down exactly what you’re looking to do–even if you can’t quite place your finger on it when you first come in.

With all the fun of working on music, sometimes it is easy to let deadlines pass or things slip through the cracks. At Sassafras you’re guaranteed a professional experience where you can have a blast and receive the high quality work you want. We believe in being accountable and acting with integrity because it simply works; without these principles, Sassafras would not be open and functioning.

Recording

Whether you’re a singer-songwriter, in a band or group, a vocalist, a choir, or anyone making any kind of music, we can record your sound. That goes for a single song, an EP, or an entire album! We’ve got the necessary equipment and an amazing space to spend time in.

Do you need music created for yourself, a project, or your company? Fret not; John Edward is a skilled composer who can write, arrange, record, and mix a song or a piece of instrumental music for you.

Come into Studio Sassafras with fully fleshed out tunes, a wisp of an idea, or anything between, and we can provide whatever level of production you need to get your sound to 100%. From John Edward: “The process involves creating melodies or offering alternative melodies for lyrics, finding just the right chords to create the emotional architecture for the song, creating beats and baselines to propel the music’s momentum with the energy needed.”

Not only that, John Edward is a virtuosic guitarist with the ability to provide any sort of necessarily guitar addition to the work at hand. He can play or program bass, synthesizer, keyboard, drum, percussion, or orchestral parts.
